Calaveras Health and Human Services Agency/Behavioral Health Services Division will be formally requesting from the Department of Health Care Services a three-month extension to submit our MHSA Three Year Plan FY 2020-2023 - due to the County's response activities specific to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The MHSA staff are delayed in gathering community planning input for the Plan due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the provisions of California Governor's Executive Order N-29-20, issued on March 17, 2020. Face to face meetings with Mental Health Advisory Board, NAMI, MHSA Steering Committee, and the Living Room Wellness Center consumers (along with HHSA staff and other key stakeholders) cannot occur at this time, and therefore an online MHSA Community Needs Assessment Survey will be distributed widely throughout Calaveras County to ensure input is collected specifically to MHSA services to be offered in the next three years.

Please phone Susan Sells at (209) 754-2810 if you have any questions regarding this extension.

MHSA/Prop 63 Information

Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)

Many of Calaveras County’s Behavioral Health programs are funded by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), otherwise known as Prop 63. The purpose of MHSA is to create an innovative and integrated mental health system that promotes wellness, recovery, and resiliency, while decreasing the stigma of accessing services. MHSA programs can be found within the mental health services division and throughout the community.
